    All Ireland Scythe Cutting Competition

    Tara Stainless Steel Perpetual Trophy

    SUN 17th JUNE 2007

    TRIM,CO.MEATH

     

     

     

    PLOTS 30 ft. (27.5 m) x 16 ft. (14.5m.) - No Entry Fee.

    map Approximately half size Plots for Ladies. We will provide a plot for each mower entered. We will also take entries on day if plots are available, and organise loan of scythes. 

     SCURLOGSTOWN OLYMPIAD RULES FOR SCYTHE MOWING.

    1. Each competitor equipped with Scythe and Sharpener.

     2.  Competitor drawn 1st starts on Plot 1. 2nd Competitor starts on Plot 2 & so on.

     3. The Competitor starts on the left hand corner of Plot, Cuts out Swath 1, Walks Back, and cuts Swath 2, - Same pattern for Swath 3 and 4.

      4. Each Plot must be cut into 4 even swaths.

    5. The Competitor indicates to time keeper when he/she is ready to start, and drops the handle of scythe to the ground when finished.

    6. Points Time – 7 Minutes or under  20           Lay of Swath           20

                               Cleanness of Cut    20     Total Points for Perfect Plot 60.
